A Moment in Photographic History:
Lithuanian photographer Izis (Israel Bidermanas) died on May 16, 1980. He left his Hebrew language school at age 13 to be apprenticed to a photographer. After receiving his training, he wandered the country and photographed. In 1931 he arrived in Paris penniless and without any passport or other papers, and not speaking a single word of French.
A Photographic Quote of Note:
Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still. – - – - – - Dorothea Lange
