A Moment in Photographic History:
André-Adolphe-Eugène Disdéri was born March 28, 1819 in Paris. Disdéri started his photographic career as a daguerreotypist but gained greater fame for patenting his version of the carte de visite , a small photographic image which was mounted on a card. Disderi, a brilliant showman, made this system of mass-production portraiture world famous. In May 1859, Napoleon III took the time to pose for photographs in Disdéri’s studio. He had to interrupt his march to war to do so. That helped Disdéri’s reputation.

A Photographic Quote of Note:
Experiment. Don’t go out with preconceptions of what a picture will look like. That will block you from being receptive to something new and exciting.  – - – - – Mason Resnick
