Viewing Life From a Safe Distance

Receding

A Moment in Photographic History:
English photographer John Mayall died Mar 6, 1901. He is the photographer who brought the albumen process to the United States from France in 1851. He was well known for shooting the first photographic portrait of Queen Victoria as well as his British Royal Family portraits taken in the 1860s.
Go to John Mayall to read a funny little story about how he handled a client.

A Photographic Quote of Note:
A photograph is a most important document, and there is nothing more damning to go down to posterity than a silly, foolish smile caught and fixed forever.  – - – - – Mark Twain
