A Sharp Personality

A Photographic History Note:
Henry Fox Talbot, upon hearing of the announcement made in Paris Academy of Sciences of Louis Daguerre’s photographic discovery, quickly prepared a paper on the subject for immediate publication in weekly journals and for submission to the Royal Society. His paper describing his success with his print-out process a few years previously was read at the Royal Society meeting of 31 January 1839.

It’s nice to know that something so withered can still be sharp. Maybe there is hope for moi.
Great photo and great caption. Your captions on C.A.’s site were the best.
