Smoking

You would think that after 50 years, my baby brother would figure out that smoking is just not a bright thing to do.

I gave up the habit some years ago, and sometimes I say to myself “just a puff”. It’s so hard to quit. But it’s worth it. On the other hand, I like the portrait. Well done.

50 years ago the anti-smoking campaign wasn’t as widespread? I could be wrong, but I think its definitely more frowned upon now – we had so many people come in in high-school showing us images we clearly could have done without. Heh.
Nevertheless, this is a great portrait of your brother! If smoking is his choice, then you’ve captured it best. Definitely a picture for keeps.

Don’t smoke.
I think now that the law passed in the US about not smoking in restaurants, I seem to see more people on the street smoking and hanging around restaurant doorways more and more.. which makes sense. Nice portrait, at least he let you take a picture of him. Couldn’t you just tell him you will beat him up if you smokes? or as adults does that not work anymore?

At 50 dollars a carton I’m not too bright either. Excellent portrait of your brother.

I’m sure he knows, but like so many people he enjoys it. It’s criminal what the tobacco companies have added to cigarettes through the years. He’s very photogenic and your capture is really good. Hope nobody is trying to quit smoking. He makes it look good:-) GASP!

You’d think that after cough-thirty-nineish-cough years I’d know that sugar is not good for me. He knows it’s not good but look at his handsome mug. I thought smoking was supposed to make you look older?

Fine portrait Michael. I gave up in last September and I put on 12 kilos!

After over 60 years of smoking, our mom had to give up smoking. She had the choice to quit and breath or smoke and die. She chose to breath. We thought it was a good choice. But she waited so long that she now has to have an oxygen tank to do that breathing. She has COPD and it is not a good disease to have. She also has emphezema and there is no cure. Smoking sucks and I hope and pray your brother wises up before he joins my mom and people like her.
God bless.
PS…Your brother does make smoking look good, but not good enough to start.

I can not believe he started smoking again!! 11 years as a nonsmoker and all for nothing!
