great picture– you’ve caught the dense, wet quality of our BC snow. With the Sparwood tragedy in mind (8 men buried under an avalanche) this photo really seems to emphasize the sometimes-forgotten ‘power’ of snow. The colours are very interesting as well… reminds me of the variations of amethyst quartz hues… we had the pleasure of checking out the Mine Cristal in Beausecours, Quebec this fall and getting an eye-feast there as well as listening to an intriguing concert with music played on the rims of crystal bowls. (but that doesn’t really belong here, does it… sorry) Fine photo!
Beautiful abstract on the snow. You can do so much with it like make snowballs, build a snowman, etc. So much for being in CA, all I get is rain…. and sun lol. =D
It almost looks like ice-cream. Beautifully captured – love the lighting in this one Michael.
Look at the lovely pink clouds. Oh wait. There’s trees in the clouds. Maybe it’s marschino cherry juice folded into whipped cream. Maybe Janice is right, it does look like ice cream with freezer burn. Somebody folded rosemary in it. Must have been that crazy Italian cook. They are always doing odd things with herbs.
You managed to create an immensity feeling with this beautiful close-up! Lighting and colours are superb.
Love how the light changes the color and mood of the snow.
