In the Shadow
A Moment in Photographic History:
French photographer Lucien Clergue was born August 14, 1934. Clergue got his big break when he showed some of his work to Pablo Picasso.
A Photographic Quote of Note:
I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Ferns and boxwoods; I’m crazy about them. It’s the tiny repeating structures that appeal to me.
