Ardent photographer and Egyptologist George Carnarvon was born June 26, 1866. Later, as The Earl of Carnarvon, he became the patron and associate of the archaeologist Howard Carter and was with him for the discovery of King Tutankhamen’s tomb. He was the principal photographer on this venture. Carnarvon worked with the platinum process. Twenty-two of these are owned by The Royal Photographic Society.
A Photographic Quote of Note:
When you feel suddenly the need to stop, to enjoy only a bit of time, you become a photographer. Just take the photo and show it to the rest of the world.
