Just another unkempt headstone in the cemetery.

A Moment in Photographic History:
Latvian photographer Philippe Halsman died on June 25, 1979. He made wonderful portraits but I certainly cannot classify his most famous works. I guess “surreal” would cover it. Maybe.
A Photographic Quote of Note:
I drifted into photography like one drifts into prostitution. First I did it to please myself, then I did it to please my friends, and eventually I did it for the money.

  1. Love the caption :) What an excellent capture of this old sign!
The color stands out glaringly amid the green foliage – an omen perhaps?

  2. first I thought it was a macro, then a giant size marlboro pack, until I realised what it was.. lol And apparently other cigarettes are sold there too. Did you find any? :)

  3. UGH! Larger than life cigarettes.
    Great colors..and nice capture.

  4. I was fooled here. At first I thought this was a cigarettes pack and then realised it was a sign.! I like the sharpness and the lighting.

  5. They will go to great lengths to make sure you try one of their fine products. Maybe they should be used in place of headstones when people die from their cigarettes.

  6. And his last name was Sold Here.

  7. superb publicity for the cigarettes!!
